Dean Burton

I am a photographic experimentalist with painterly leanings. My education is from cross disciplinary art departments at the University of Arizona and San Jose State University in California. I live in Northern Nevada and find much of my visual inspiration from it's unique landscape. I am also interested in various art historical styles such as color field painting, minimalism, geometric abstraction, and abstract photography. A list of my favorite artists would include Mark Rothko, Agnes Martin, Barnett Newman, Harry Callahan, and Joan Fontcuberta. I find my practice lately to be mixing "straight" photographs with "synthetic" compositions.
